- Advertising Review:
On December 16, 2021, Better Business Bureau contacted the Ascent Mobility concerning an advertising claim found on their website. Specifically, Ascent Mobility is advertising claims without providing any substantiation. Claims on their website requiring substantiation include:
"Denver's first choice for home stairlifts, elevators and accessibility products."
"We price our solutions to be equal or lower than the competition to provide you the most value for your hard-earned dollars."
According to the Code of Advertising, expressions of opinion or personal evaluation of the intangible qualities of a product or service are likely to be considered puffery. Such claims are not subject to the test of truth and accuracy and would not need substantiation.
Despite written requests, as of February 1, 2022, Ascent Mobility has failed to substantiate or modify its advertisement.
