On October 13, 2021, Alan Anderson, owner of Imbee, Inc., Fanlala and Fruit Punch Music was indicated by a Federal grand jury and charged with 4 counts of wire fraud and 1 count of securities fraud (CASE: CR21-397EMC).
The charges stem from allegations that Mr. Anderson used false information to induce investors into making contributions to the three companies that were marketed as providing child-friendly internet services. According to court documents between April 2010 and May of 2019, Mr. Anderson raised money for the companies by making false representations and creating false documents to support his claims. It is alleged that Mr. Anderson created false income statements as well as profit and loss statements in order to misrepresent the companies’ profitability to investors and potential investors. In addition it is alleged that Mr. Anderson either created or altered contracts so it would appear his companies were going to be acquired by larger companies or were in partnership with existing companies.
