The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the governments allegations, which have not yet been proven.
On November 30, 2017 the California Department of Insurance filed an Accusation against Wells Fargo Insurance Inc. Charges filed allege the business is in violation of Insurance Code Law prohibiting previously engaged in a fraudulent practice or act or have conducted any business in a dishonest manner, knowingly misrepresented the terms or effect of an insurance policy or contract, permitting persons in their employ to violate provisions of the insurance code by transacting insurance without a license, and have shown incompetency or untrustworthiness in the conduct of any business and exposed the public to the danger of loss.
