On March 11, 2015 we contacted Bryan Fairman, the former owner of Fairman Law Group, who confirmed that he is not connected with the individual(s) making the calls, or the (916) 288-9673 phone number. Fairman is currently employed by a reputable law firm which is headquartered in San Diego.
On March 12, 2015, we contacted Sacramento attorney Peggy Fairman, who confirmed that she has no association with the callers or Fairman Law Group. Ms. Fairman is employed by the State at the California Department of Business Oversight.
BBB has been unable to reach anyone at (916) 288-9673 - the line is answered by an automated menu that provides no option to speak with a representative.
According to reviews, the company calls with pre-recorded messages offering loans. These types of calls, known as "robo-calls" are illegal in California.
BBB cautions business owners and consumers about providing information to unfamiliar callers. Unsolicited offers for loans, particularly those made by automatic dialers, can come from scammers looking to obtain personal information for identity theft, or take payment for services that wont be delivered.
In California, a Finance Lender’s license is required for lenders and brokers making and brokering consumer and commercial loans. Please make sure to verify the company’s license before providing any sensitive or financial information or completing a loan application. Tell the caller you will not provide any information or make any decisions until you get all details in writing.
