On April 23, 2020, St. Fin Corp entered into a Second Amendment to Settlement Agreement with the Department of Business Oversight. The settlement agreement settles allegations that the business overcharged per diem interest, overcharged recording fees, failed to provide applicable license(s) and failed to provide proper Fair Lending Notices. Under terms of the settlement agreement, the business agreed to cease the alleged business practices and pay a penalty of $107,550.00 plus additional penalties of $50.00 for each recording fee overcharge. The business has made refunds totaling $88,354.17 on 667 loans.
