- Advertising Review:On October 23, 2024, BBB requested Vert Energy Group to modify, substantiate or discontinue a claim made on their mailer that reads:
“Use VertPro® to quickly get in compliance and avoid receiving any potential violations or fines.”
“The City of Seattle mandates an annual Energy Benchmark report to be filed by July 1, 2024.”
“According to city records, the following property is listed as "Not Complied" for 2024:”
“Seattle requires all commercial and multi-family buildings over 20,000 sq.ft. to comply with the Council Bill 116731 (CB 116731).”
Advertisers must be prepared to substantiate such claims per BBB's Code of Advertising.
BBB's Code of Advertising Section 1 of the Code states that advertisements should be truthful, sincere offers to sell. Advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request. All advertising that may mislead or deceive consumers should be avoided.
As of November 12, 2024 the business has not responded to BBB's request.
