Complainants generally allege that they receive a notice to renew their subscription to Sports Illustrated Magazine from this business in the mail. Complainants further allege that after paying to renew their subscription, they never receive the issues they paid for or the free gifts promised by the company. When complainants contact Sports Illustrated they allege that they are told Sports Illustrated knows nothing about the business. Additionally, complainants allege that they have difficulty getting in touch with the company regarding their concerns.
The business generally responds by stating that it has been in business since 1986 and works with a third party vendor who is authorized to process renewals for Sports Illustrated. The company also states that it has refunded the complainants or shipped promised free gifts.
BBB believes that these complaints contain a pattern of allegations and contacted the business on May 13, 2015. We requested the company provide to us steps that it is taking to eliminate the underlying cause of complaints, if any. The company responded to our request on May 17, 2015, indicating that they have hired a full time complaints manager to handle any new complaints.
Additionally, on June 4, 2015 and June 11, 2015 BBB contacted SI Payments asking that they substantiate their affiliation with the third party vendor, however as of today's date, the business has not responded to that request.
