On November 27, 2024, BBB challenged this company’s advertising that appears on their website https://organic-choice.cleaning/chimney-sweep/. The website makes the following statement:
• “Facebook five-star reviews, Angie’s list five-star reviews, Angie’s certified and Google five-star reviews".
According to the BBB's Code of Advertising, 1.1 The primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. 1.2 Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used. 1.3 An advertisement as a whole may be misleading by implication, although every sentence separately considered may be literally true.
Organic Choice Cleaning was notified and asked to provide substantiation for the above statement. If the requested information could not be substantiated, the company was asked to remove the statement. Despite our attempts, Organic Choice Cleaning has not provided the requested information.
Pattern of Complaints
Organic Choice Services came to BBB’s attention in February 2021. A review of complaints was completed in November 2024. Based on BBB files, this company has a pattern of complaints. Complaints processed by BBB state the price charged to consumers drastically increased from the price initially quoted, only accepting Zelle as a way of payment (not giving consumers a way to dispute charges), poor quality of work and consumers not able to reach anyone when reaching out to resolve their issues.
BBB has reached out to Organic Choice Services to address BBB’s concerns. To date, the company has not responded to our request.
