In October 2018, BBB investigated the business practices of Cardflip.com LLC.

BBB has received information consumers this business may:  obtain gift card number and pin from consumer seller, claim card information is invalid and  later use provided information for resell; fail to pay consumers for gift cards sold to business for resell; sell cards to consumers at a far lesser amount than advertised; charge consumers for more than the value of the gift card sold; knowingly resell gift cards with a zero balance available; sell a single gift card to multiple consumers at the advertised cost to each buyer;  refuse payment to gift card seller claiming gift card sold was used by seller and showed $0 balance immediately after transaction with Cardflip.com; deny consumer refunds despite selling consumer card(s) with $0 available; fail to pay consumers for gift cards sold to Cardflip.com despite consumer providing all information required for resell;  fail to honor refund policy by failing to respond to requested refund until a date after valid refund time-frame; fail to respond to consumer concerns via email; fail to return promised calls to concerned consumers; and  fail to address BBB complaints and inquiries.  BBB contacted Cardflip.com LLC regarding business practice concerns. The business did respond to BBB's concerns by providing substantiation to show that consumers are properly informed of the 5-7 day verification process required to ensure gift cards have the promised amounts for resell, and sellers of gift cards are compensated accordingly. Additionally, Cardflip.com, provided BBB with details to show the business verifies information twice prior to offering gift cards on their website.
