- Advertising Review:
On January 8, 2021, the Better Business Bureau requested the business to modify, substantiate or discontinue claims made on their promotional mailer that read display “IMMEDIATE RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE REQUESTED”, “FINAL NOTICE”, “PLEASE CALL IMMEDIATELY as this will be our FINAL ATTEMPT TO NOTIFY YOU” and “EXTREMELY URGENT & TIME SENSITIVE - IMMEDIATE RESPONSE REQUESTED”. Additionally, BBB requested the business discontinue any advertised claims that could directly or indirectly mislead consumers about the urgency of the notice.
BBB's Code of Advertising Section 1 reads that "Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast. Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. The Code continues that "Advertisements which are untrue, misleading, deceptive, fraudulent, falsely disparaging of competitors, or insincere offers to sell, shall not be used" and "An advertisement as a whole may be misleading by implication, although every sentence separately considered may be literally true".
Additionally, BBB has been unable to determine where the business is physically located. BBB urges caution when choosing whether to do business with a company whose physical address is unknown.
