On December 3 2018 BBB checked the websites ontariocarbonagency.com and ontcarbon.com to determine they were created on October 4 2018 and August 24 2018, respectively, but the registration information was not disclosed for either. On the same date BBB searched for the company's business registration as required by the government of Ontario. There is no business registered as "Ontario Carbon Agency".

The address provided by the company is 1801 - 1 Yonge St Toronto, ON M5E 1W7, which is a virtual office. BBB is unable to confirm the physical location of the company.

BBB reached out to Natural Resources Canada and the Ministry of Government Services (Consumer Protection Ontario) and were advised there are currently no government energy rebates being offered in Ontario.
