On September 12, 2022, BBB attempted to send correspondence to353 Main Road 103, St. John's, Newfoundland A1S 1G3. Our mail was returned as undeliverable from this address. We were unsuccessful in locating a new address, resulting in BBB not having complete and current information. If you have information that would assist your BBB in developing a report, please speak with a BBB Marketplace Counsellor.
BBB Serving the Atlantic Provinces has concluded an Investigation into the status of Flights2India and is satisfied by the results of our Investigations that this is not a legitimate Business.
The Investigation was prompted by several phone inquiries and consumers sharing their experience in the BBB Scam Tracker. After multiple attempts to contact this Business via postal mails, emails, and phone calls, we were unable to contact the Business. The Business is not listed on the NL Joint Stock Registry. The Business is using an address of a commercial tower, no where they have mentioned the Suite Number.
Flights2India guarantees cheapest flight tickets to passengers travelling to India from North America. The consumers are enticed with low fares and are tricked to pay through a 'Third Party' Payment Service Provider instead of concluding the transaction though their website. Once the money is transferred, the business blocks the consumer leaving no room for further communication.
Tips to spot this scam -- When possible, deal with a local travel agent. Take advice from friends and business associates who use an agent they trust and always check business profiles on BBB.org.
- Visit or call several agencies to find the one that best suits your needs.
- Consider everything from the appearance of the office to the agent’s willingness to listen and answer questions.
- Ask about a specific agent’s professional background. For example, what kind of training or education they have had.
How to avoid travel scams -
Do your research. If you come across a company you haven’t dealt with before, research it before making any purchases. Look on BBB.org for reviews and feedback from previous customers.
Double check flight details before calling support. Scammers are blasting out fake airline cancellation emails and text messages that can easily be mistaken for the real deal. Confirm the information in the message – such as the flight and reservation numbers – is correct before calling customer support.
Confirm the URL before you enter personal and payment information. It can be easy to click on a sponsored ad or impostor website without noticing. Before entering any sensitive information, double-check that you are on the right website and that the link is secure. (Secure links start with “HTTPS//” and include a lock icon on the purchase page.
Be wary of third-party websites. Some websites appear to offer a legitimate service but are only fronts for a scam. Be suspicious of websites with no working customer service number or physical address. Typos and grammatical errors can be indications of a scammer’s handiwork.
Make online purchases with your credit card. Fraudulent charges on a credit card can usually be disputed, whereas that might not be the case with other payment methods. Unfortunately, there is no way to get back the personal information you may have shared.
