On October 7, 2019 BBB requested that Positively Green Clean provide details about the claims of "100% Green Cleaning Products" and "Products by a Certified Aromatherapist" made on the companies website.
BBB requested a list of "Green Cleaning Products" used by the company and specific information to support the claim of "Green". The BBB Code of Advertising states, in part:
"Advertisers should not make broad, unqualified general environmental benefit claims like “green” or “eco-friendly.” Advertisers must qualify general claims with specific environmental benefits. Advertisers must possess competent and reliable evidence (often scientific evidence) to support all environmental benefit claims. Qualifications for any claim must be clear, conspicuous and understandable."
BBB requested details about the certifications of the Aromatherapist. The BBB Code of Advertising states, in part, "Advertisers have a responsibility to have substantiation for all claims made and should be able to provide that substantiation upon request."
As of November 6, 2019 BBB has not received the requested information.
