On March 9, and March 20, 2017, the BBB contacted the business regarding the following statements that are being advertised on their website, http://www.cartercaldwell-affiliates.com/. The BBB request clarification and/or substantiation of the following advertising claims:

- The website states that Carter Caldwell Affiliates has an office location at 2323 N Mayfair Rd, Wauwatosa, WI 53226. However, the BBB confirmed that there is no Carter Caldwell Affiliates located at this address. The BBB requested an updated business address. 

- The website states “With 12 years of experience in the vacation ownership and timeshare industry, we have the experience in operating several other leading consumer products and service related businesses.” The BBB requested that Carter Caldwell Affiliates provide documentation or references that substantiated 12 years of industry experience. 

- In regards to “existing owners,” the website states “we find out what exactly they are looking for and we match it with our re-sale inventory.” In order for the BBB to substantiate this claim, the BBB requested ten references, with contact information, of existing timeshare owners who have worked with Carter Caldwell Affiliates. 

- In regards to the services listed on the website, the term “shoppers” is included. The BBB requested clarification of whether or not Carter Caldwell Affiliates also sells timeshares to shoppers. If so, the BBB requested ten references, with contact information, of consumers who have bought timeshares from Carter Caldwell Affiliates. 

- In regards to the services listed on the website, the term “corporations” is included. The BBB requested clarification of whether or not Carter Caldwell Affiliates also sells timeshares to corporations. If so, the BBB requested ten references, with contact information, of corporations who have bought timeshares from Carter Caldwell Affiliates. 

- The website states “We have Full-time trained and experienced agents, who are specialized in vacation ownerships and timeshare industries that are driven to match buyers and sellers.” The BBB requested that Carter Caldwell Affiliates provide five references, with contact information, of licensed agents that the business uses to match buyers and sellers. 

- The website states “Carter Caldwell Affiliates is partnered with multiple title/closing companies and would be happy to provide a referral when the negotiated price is ready for sale.” The BBB requested that Carter Caldwell Affiliates provide five references, with contact information, of title/closing companies that the business uses for referrals. 

As of March 30, 2017, Carter Caldwell Affiliates did not respond to the BBB's request for clarification and/or substantiation of the advertising claims.

However, On March 7, 2017, the Property Management office of 2323 N. Mayfair Rd., Wauwatosa WI informed the BBB that "Carter Caldwell & Affiliates" is not nor has it ever been a tenant of theirs.

This company is not registered as a corporation in Wisconsin with the Wisconsin Department of Financial Institutions (WDFI.org)
