          Tire City and Affordable Auto has been the subject of a BBB advertising challenge that was brought to their attention by the BBB referencing the company’s website advertisement. Specifically, the company’s use of the claim “Guaranteed lowest prices" does not meet Better Business Bureau Code of Advertising guidelines without substantiation. Tire City and Affordable Auto, who are not accredited or affiliated with BBB, also uses the BBB Accredited Business Logo on their website illegally.

          According to the guidelines: “When using the term "guaranteed" in product advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser's location, viewed on the advertiser's website or, in the case of mail or telephone order sales, made available free on written request. Sellers or manufacturers should advertise that a product or service is warranted or guaranteed only if the seller or manufacturer promptly and fully performs its obligations under the warranty or guarantee.”

          The BBB requested written clarification from the company on the specifics of their “Guaranteed lowest prices”. Tire City did not respond directly to BBB however they removed the BBB logo and modified the advertisement. Tire City added this disclaimer, "Customer loyalty is our highest priority. The purpose of our business is to repair vehicles quickly, skillfully and honestly. We are here to help you make informed choices that work for your budget by providing expert advice. We are grateful for your business and we do everything we can to keep it. Our customers trust us to keep them on the road; come see why.." 

          BBB has determined that Tire City and Affordable Auto’s modification met BBB guidelines. The advertisement review was closed as modified.
