Alert

Big Stone Electronics, came to the attention of BBB in January 2019.  At that time, the business had a complaint that had been closed with no response from the business. The complainant purchased a computer repair service for a flat fee on Ebay. The seller on Ebay then provided the shipping address, 2527 Shawnee Avenue E, Big Stone Gap, Virginia, 24219, to send the computer to via USPS. The complainant was able to confirm that the seller did receive the computer by the USPS tracking number.

The complainant contacted the seller and confirmed that he had received the computer, but repairs had yet to be completed. All other attempts to contact the seller received no response. As of March 5, 2019, the complainant has not received a refund or their computer back.

On February 27, 2019, BBB contacted Big Stone Computers, which is located at 2529 Shawnee Avenue E, Big Stone Gap, Virginia, 24219, to find out more information.  BBB called (276) 219-8887, the phone number that Big Stone Computers has shown on their website, and spoke with Mr. Eddie Blair, Jr.  Mr. Blair stated that he knew nothing about “Big Stone Electronics” or selling items on Ebay. BBB mailed letters to 2529 and 2527 Shawnee Avenue requesting additional information about the business. Mr. Blair confirmed receipt of both letters. An email was sent, by BBB, on February 27, 2019, requesting more information about Big Stone Computers/Big Stone Electronics. To date, BBB has not received a response.

Based on the information above, BBB cannot state with confidence that we have a clear understanding of the business practice. Consumers are urged to always check with BBB before making online purchases to verify the validity of the seller.
