- Advertising Review:
On March 7th 2019, BBB contacted Mothers Lounge requesting modification or discontinuation of certain practices of the company. The practices questioned were:
1. Business is sending out “gift cards” from their different online businesses, including Carseat Canopy. These gift cards are sent in an envelope which appears to have lost its return label. In reality, it seems to be a marketing tactic meant to make the envelope look more like mail from a friend. The card in this round of mailings was signed by a “Jen,” likely purposely ambiguous to hide that these advertisements are coming from a company. BBB believes that the use of these marketing scenarios is questionable.
2. BBB shopped on carseatcanopy.com for a $49.95 product with a Mother's Lounge gift card. BBB noted that if you do not use the $49.95 “gift card,” the economy shipping is free. However, if the gift card is inserted, then the economy shipping increases to $11.97 (because the dollar amount for "free" shipping has not been met to get "free" shipping).BBB’s Code of Advertising, “Free” section 14 specifically under 14.1.2 states that the price should not be increased, if offering a discount. If the price is increased there is no discount, therefore the shipping is not "free," nor is the "gift card." http://www.bbb.org/utah/for-businesses/code-of-advertising
3. BBB also asked that the business include information in their mailing regarding where the business is located, namely a return name and address on the envelope, or to include in the information inside the envelope.
To date, the company has not provided a response to BBB to modify or discontinue these concerning practices.

- These are MothersLounge.com’s ("Mothers Lounge", "we" or "our") Standard Return Policies applicable only to products purchased by you directly from the Mothers Lounge sister websites (carseatcanopy.com, uddercovers.com, sevenslings.com, nursingpillow.com, bellybuttonband.com, babyleggings.com, breastpads.com). Because of the nature of the product, we have an All Sales Final policy.We know that you will appreciate that you will be receiving a brand new never been used, product and not someone's exchange or return. In the event a return is approved, all product returns require prior approval from our customer service team. Products that are not eligible for return will be sent back to you at your cost and expense. Products that will not be eligible for a return are: Any product not purchased from CarseatCanopy.com. Any product that is returned without all original packaging and accessories, including the retail bag, and all other items originally included with the product. Any product from which the UPC code has been removed from its packaging. Any product that exhibits physical damage. Any product for which you have submitted a mail-in rebateItems that are damaged/defective upon arrival. If you believe you have received a defective or incorrect merchandise (style or color), you must contact customer service within 30 days of receipt and provide a photo of the defect and/or incorrect product.We DO NOT replace with a different print than what was originally ordered.
