- Additional Info:In May 2004, Terminix entered into an Assurance of Voluntary Compliance with the Attorney General's Bureau of Consumer Protection for the Commonwealth of Pennyslvania. Under terms of the settlement with the Commonwealth, Terminix admits no wrongdoing and agrees to issue full refunds or credit to eligible consumers who contacted Terminix before July 6, 2004. Refunds will be issued for fuel surcharges billed to consumers between October 2000 and August 2001. Those seeking refunds should contact Terminix at 1-800-358-4968.
On September 25, 2003, the State of New York and Terminix entered into a Supplemental Consent Decree resolving claims by the State that Terminix violated state environmental and general business laws. The State alleged Terminix failed to follow the label directions of certain pesticides in violation of state environmental laws and alleged that Terminix violated general business laws addressing deceptive acts and practices. As part of the Supplemental Consent Decree, Terminix agreed to pay $759,000 and the state agreed to consider all the State's claims resolved. Terminix vigorously disputes the State's allegations and this Supplemental Consent Decree should not be construed as an admission of guilt or finding of violation of law.
