Ad Review 1
On April 4, 2023, BBB Serving North Central Texas requested that the business substantiate, modify, or discontinue its advertising claims stating that the company provides “factory direct” sales.
The BBB Code of Advertising states that, “The terms ‘factory to you,’ ‘direct from maker,’ ‘factory direct,’ ‘factory outlet’ and the like can be used where all advertised products are actually manufactured by the advertiser or in factories owned or controlled by the advertiser.”
Notably, BBB challenged the same claims in 2012 when the business informed BBB that it did not own or operate a factory. At that time, the business removed “factory direct” from its marketing materials and formally changed its name. As of April 2023, the business began advertising the challenged claims “factory direct” once again.
While the business initially responded to our request for advertising substantiation, as of June 22, 2023, the business has failed to modify or discontinue the challenged claims.
