November 14, 2016, BBB received a concerning consumer inquiry regarding this business. The consumer provided documentation that indicated his personal vehicle was towed by this business. When the consumer called the business to inquire about his vehicle, the consumer was initially told by the business that "they had the vehicle on one of their lots and would call the consumer back once the vehicle had been located." The consumer called the business multiple times to follow up regarding the location of the vehicle. The consumer then called BBB for help with resolving this situation. BBB reached out to the business in an attempt to better understand the circumstance and help resolve it favorably. BBB was initially told by the business that they had the vehicle and quoted BBB staff the price the consumer would need to pay to pick up the vehicle. BBB communicated this to the consumer. However, when the consumer called the business to inquire, he was told that they were "still trying to locate" the vehicle. BBB called the business. BBB was told that we would have to speak with the business owner. BBB left multiple messages and requests to speak to the business owner. The business owner did not respond to BBB. In early December, the consumer filed a written complaint. The complaint information was forwarded to the business and the business was asked to respond to the complaint. To date BBB has received no response from the business/business owner. The complaint has been closed as unanswered. BBB has opened an investigation to gain understanding about business practices. BBB will work with TDLR, the state licensing agency that governs towing service. 
YOU MAY REQUEST A TOW HEARING AT ANY JUSTICE OF THE PEACE COURT in the county where your car was towed if you believe your car was wrongfully towed, stored or booted; or if you were charged more than the allowed fee.

YOU MUST REQUEST THE TOW HEARING FROM THE COURT WITHIN 14 DAYS OF THE TOW.

Towing companies are governed under Texas Department of Licensing and Regulations. Your rights outlined by TDLR guidelines:

If you return to your car and it is being hooked-up to a tow truck but IT IS NOT FULLY hooked up and ready for towing, you can keep your car WITHOUT paying a CHARGE. You do not need to prove ownership of the car in this instance.

If you return to your car and IT IS FULLY HOOKED UP, READY FOR TOWING, BUT HAS NOT LEFT THE PARKING LOT, you may keep your car but YOU MUST PAY A DROP FEE. You do not need to prove ownership of the car in this instance either.

If your car has been towed from a parking lot, you can find your car by calling the phone number on the no parking sign. You can recover your car from the vehicle storage facility (VSF) after documenting that you are the owner (or allowed user) and paying the towing and storage fees.

At the VSF, you may have access to your car to get ownership documents. You do not have to pay a fee to do this.

At the VSF, you may have access to your car to recover personal property. You do not have to pay a fee to do this.

You can claim or just access your car 24-hours a day and within one hour if the VSF accepts cars 24-hours a day. 

If a VSF does not accept cars 24 hours a day, you may claim your car within one hour of your request between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and midnight Monday -Saturday and from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sundays except for nationally recognized holidays. VSFs with these hours are not required to release a car after midnight.
