Additional Information for Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair

On April 5, 2021, BBB contacted Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair regarding advertised claims on their website https://ex-hail-auto-hail-repair.com.  

Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair advertises they offer "Free Hail Repair", "Free rental car", and advertise they will pay the customers deductible. 

BBB Code of Advertising states because consumers continually search for the best buy and regard the offer of “free” products or services to be a special bargain, all such offers must be made with extreme care to avoid any possibility that consumers will be misled or deceived. Whenever such an offer is made advertisers must make clear at the outset all the terms and conditions of the offer.

Dependent on many factors including the customer’s deductible and insurance coverage BBB requested Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair to substantiate or modify the free claim advertised on their website as it may not always apply to all consumers. BBB requested  Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair to amend their website to include any terms and conditions and remove advertising “free” to address BBB's concern. 

Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair also advertises they offer a "lifetime warranty." 

BBB Code of Advertising states, when advertising “lifetime” warranties or guarantees or similar representations, the advertisement must clearly and conspicuously disclose its intended meaning of the term “lifetime.”

BBB requested Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair to provide BBB a copy of the lifetime warranty that is provided to their customers.  BBB also requested Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair to modify the “lifetime warranty” claim on the company’s website to clearly and conspicuously include the intended meaning of the term “lifetime.”

Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair also advertises they offer a "100% Satisfaction Guarantee.”  

BBB Code of Advertising states advertisers should only use “satisfaction guarantee,” “money-back guarantee,” or similar representations in advertising if the seller or manufacturer refunds the full price of the advertised product or service at the consumer’s request.

BBB requested Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair clarify if they offered full refunds for any reason a customer may be dissatisfied.  If full refunds are not offered, BBB requested they discontinue advertising “satisfaction guarantee.”

Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair also advertises they are “BBB Accredited-A+ Rating” and “5-Star Ratings on Google and Yelp.”  BBB reviewed Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair's ratings advertised in April 2021 and found Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair ratings on Yelp only reflected 2 and 1 stars for reviews.   BBB Code of Advertising states the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser.  Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any objective claims or offers made before publication or broadcast.  Upon request, they should present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB.    BBB requested Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair update their website to reflect their rating at the time for both BBB, Google, and Yelp or discontinue advertising their BBB rating. 

As of April 23, 2021, Ex-Hail Auto Hail Repair failed to respond to BBB's request to modify, substantiate or discontinue their advertising.
