On January 29, 2019 GameStop Inc. entered into a Stipulated Final Judgement with the State of California. The Stipulated Judgement settles allegations that some of the business’ stores did not comply with California’s “secondhand dealer” regulations requiring certain documentation of items bought for resale. Under terms of the Stipulated Judgement, the business will develop and implement procedures for all California stores to ensure compliance with California’s Business and Professions Code. The business will pay costs of the investigation to Shasta and Riverside Counties totaling $21,500 and civil penalties of $478,500.
