Additional Information for Help Your Diabetes

In April 2021, BBB received a study from Help Your Diabetes that was conducted in order to substantiate its claims that its program could reverse/treat Type 2 diabetes. Specifically, BBB challenged advertised claims found on Help Your Diabetes website and patent that stated “You Can Reverse Your Type 2 Diabetes and Get Off Your Medications”, “When you follow our HYD program, our success rate is 100% with people being able to see their blood sugar decrease” and "a novel and very effective regimen for treatment of Type 2 diabetes not previously available".

Additionally, Help Your Diabetes advertises what the "Average Results Over A 4.5 Month Period" would be for consumers. After a review of the information provided, BBB did not find that the study substantiated its claims because it lacked sufficient reliable scientific evidence.

BBB’s Code of Advertising states claims specific to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing. The FTC standard of competent and reliable scientific evidence has been defined in FTC case law as "tests, analyses, research, studies, or other evidence based on the expertise of professionals in the relevant area, that has been conducted and evaluated in an objective manner by persons qualified to do so, using procedures generally accepted in the profession to yield accurate and reliable results."

BBB requested the company remove all advertised claims that directly state or imply that its program treats diabetes unless the company can provide independent scientific testing to substantiation these claims and that BBB would review any additional substantiation should it meet BBB Code of Advertising guidelines.

On Oct. 9, 2018, BBB contacted Help Your Diabetes regarding the absence of required disclosures on paid advertisements. 

According to BBB’s Code of Advertising, advertisers must not mislead consumers as to the nature or source of native ads they place, or cause to be placed, in any medium, including social media. The business agreed to include the required disclosures on all paid advertisements.

Additionally, BBB requested the company provide verification of licensing credentials pertaining to the principles represented on the company's website as chiropractor, doctor or any derivative of the term. Under the consultation of the Texas Board of Chiropractic Examiner, BBB confirmed that Help Your Diabetes cannot advertise or represent themselves as chiropractors without maintaining an active license in the State of Texas.  
BBB also confirmed that the principles represented on the company’s website may use “doctor” if they disclose the authority under which the title is used or the college of honorary degree that gives rise to use of the title.  

On March 6, 2019, BBB informed Help Your Diabetes of the remaining concerns and requested the company remove all representations where the term “chiropractor,” “chiropractic,” “doctor of chiropractic,” “D.C.,” or any derivative of those terms or initials are used in connection with their names.

Furthermore, BBB requested that a disclaimer stating the institution which awarded the degrees of Mr. Hockings and Mr. Draluck be included in all advertised materials where they refer themselves as “Dr.” or “Doctor”.
BBB also requested the company remove the advertised claim stating “The Worlds #1 System For Reversing Diabetes” as the information provided to BBB did not substantiate this and provide substantiation for their “As Seen On” claims.
