Ad Review
On December 2, 2011 BBB questioned the one year guarantee on trees sold by this company. The guarantee as provided by consumers states trees planted by Thomas Gonzales Tree Company will live or be replaced at no cost for one year. Consumers interviewed by BBB indicate other conditions such as watering and feeding schedule of the new trees were required. These conditions were not made known to the consumer prior to purchase. Company could not document any instances of honoring the offered guarantee.
BBB Code of Advertising requires that all material limitations and terms of a warranty should be disclosed prior to purchase. The terms of feeding and watering schedule were not disclosed by the company.
Company failed to respond to the advertising challenge and is therefore not in compliance with BBB Code of Advertising.
