Pattern of Complaints

Based on BBB files, Provision Power and Gas, LLC has a pattern of complaints alleging misleading sales practices. Consumers allege they are solicited by representatives from Provision Power and Gas, LLC posing as employees of their energy provider. Consumers allege these representatives ask to examine their bill and record their account information. Consumers further allege they are then asked to sign documentation without being informed it is an enrollment for Provision Power and Gas, LLC to become their alternative energy supplier.

Additionally, consumers allege enrolling services provided by Provision Power and Gas, LLC after being informed they will receive a lower monthly rate for energy. Consumers then allege their monthly energy bills increase after enrolling.

BBB reached out to Provision Power and Gas, LLC to address these concerns. The business states there are several safeguards in place to ensure each customer is made aware of their enrollment. Each consumers must initial and sign an enrollment form stating they understand that by signing this contract, they are enrolling in the business's services. BBB was provided with copies of these enrollment forms.

Provision Power and Gas, LLC also provided training documents given to sales representatives enforcing they are not allowed to pose as employees of the consumers utility company. Additionally, the business states they mail a welcome letter and a copy of the terms and conditions to consumers within one business day after enrolling, and over the phone consumers must complete a third-party verification to summarize rate plan and term.

Despite the safeguards outlined in the provided documentation, BBB remains concerned by the high volume of consumers alleging they were misled by representatives of Provision Power and Gas, LLC.
