Ad Review

BBB has received a copy of a solicitation letter sent by mail by Working Class Hero's, Inc. requesting donations to a variety of funds.  BBB has not found a listing for this business on the Tennessee Charity Division's website, but did note that the company has registered as a for profit corporation with Tennessee's Secretary of State.

While the letter outlines that the organization is soliciting contributions that will not be tax deductible as this is a for profit corporation rather than a non-profit organization, it's BBB's understanding that an organization must hold an approved filing with the Internal Revenue Service and be registered with the state of Tennessee's Charity Division before soliciting donations, especially given Working Class Hero's Inc.'s stated goals on its website of raising $250,000 for a Main Fund and $250,000 for a Mortgage Assistance Fund by December 31, 2024.

On August 26, 2024, BBB contacted Working Class Hero's, Inc. by email and requested information about their solicitations. BBB also requested information regarding the company's registration with either the state of Tennessee's Secretary of State's Charity Division or the Internal Revenue Service. BBB included a standard business questionnaire with a request for Working Class Hero's to provide more details about their operation.

BBB did not receive a response regarding related charitable organizations, however BBB received a completed questionnaire on August 29th indicating that the proper category for Working Class Hero's, Inc. is "professional fundraiser." Their questionnaire also included the following statement: "While Working Class Hero’s Inc. focuses on charitable causes and social good for working-class Americans, we are not considered a non-profit organization. Working Class Hero’s Inc. maintains a traditional business structure and is NOT a 501(C)(3) corporation."

BBB also sent correspondence to the entity on September 3, 2024, outlining BBB's findings from the Tennessee Secretary of State's website regarding the requirements of an organization making public appeals for contributions. As of September 16, 2024, BBB's team has not noted any changes to Working Class Hero's, Inc.'s website regarding BBB's concerns that were outlined in the correspondence.
