Important information

  • Additional Info:
On June 24, 2024, BBB attempted to contact Stove Guard by the number listed on their website.  BBB was informed the number no longer belongs to the business.
  • Advertising Review:
In April 2024, BBB contacted Stove Guard regarding claims in its advertising.

Its website at https://stoveguard.com/ states "#1, Top Quality Stove Protector" and "America’s #1 stovetop protectors."  Its Facebook page states "Nation’s leading manufacturer of kitchen appliance protectors."
According to the BBB Code of Advertising, superlative statements in advertisements about the tangible qualities and performance values of a product or service are objective claims for which the advertiser must possess substantiation as they can be based upon accepted standards or tests. As statements of fact, such claims, like "America’s #1 stovetop protectors" can be proved or disproved.  Stove Guard did not respond to BBB's request that it provide substantiation for these "#1" and "nation's leading" claims or consider modifying them.

The claims "Our StoveGuard products are proudly MADE IN THE USA and are custom designed & precision cut for a guaranteed fit to protect your stove, range or cooktop" and "Manufactured right in here is in the US" appear in its advertising.  An advertiser must not express or imply that a product or product line is exclusively “Made in USA” unless all or virtually all of the product is made in the U.S. All significant parts and processing that go into the product must be of U.S. origin. That is, the product should contain no or negligible foreign content.  Advertisers can refer to products that are manufactured with foreign components as “Assembled in USA,” if the product's principal assembly and last substantial transformation was completed in the U.S. The business did not respond to BBB's request that it provide substantiation for these claims.

Stove Guard's website and Facebook pages state that its products are "100% FDA food grade approved. PFOA and BPA free."  Its website includes the claim "We're rated 4.8/5 from 37,536 customer reviews."
The BBB Code of Advertising states that the primary responsibility for truthful and non-deceptive advertising rests with the advertiser. Advertisers should be prepared to substantiate any claims or offers made before publication or broadcast and, upon request, present such substantiation promptly to the advertising medium or BBB. The business did not respond to BBB's request that it provide substantiation for these statements.
