Alert 1

On May 17, 2019 BBB opened an investigation on Storm Damage Consultants after receiving a complaint from a consumer that named Owner, Mike Hayden, in the complaint. A BBB search revealed that Mike Hayden is also associated with several other contracting/roofing companies including: Massillon Roofing and Cleveland Insurance Consultants. The BBB contacted Mr. Hayden by mail and email requesting clarification of association between all these businesses. The BBB's investigation revealed the following:

XPROQUO, LLC doing business as Storm Damage Consultants is registered and active with the Ohio Secretary of State since 10/25/2018. Mike Hayden's personal LinkedIn profile shows he is the owner of the company since April 2018 - present. The company's address is 112 Erie St. S., Massillon, OH 44646. Phone number 216-224-1911. Website is freeroofs.us. There are two Facebook pages: facebook.com/stormdamageguru and facebook.com/freeroofs.us.

Transparent Commercial Contractors, LLC doing business as Massillon Roofing is registered with the Ohio Secretary of State since 3/23/2016. Mike Hayden's personal LinkedIn page shows he is the Co-Owner of the company from May 2016 - present. The company's address is also listed as 112 Erie St. S., Massillon, OH 44646. The company has different phone numbers and website  address massillonroofing.com no longer works. 

Cleveland Insurance Consultants, LLC is registered with the Ohio Secretary of State since 2/16/2016 and is currently active. The company's address is 1061 Cedar Rd, Cleveland Heights, OH 44118. The phone number is 216-224-1911 and is the same phone number being used by Storm Damage Consultants. The company's website freeroofs.us is also the same website that is being used for Storm Damage Consultants. Additionally, Cleveland BBB conducted an investigation and Ad Review on Cleveland Insurance Consultants in June 2017. 

On May 28 2019 and June 4, 2019, mailed complaints to the 112 Erie St. S. Massillon, OH 44646 address was returned by the post office as "not deliverable as addressed - Unable to forward". The BBB then sent the complaints via email to Mr. Hayden which he responded to the complaint. When asked why the mail was returned, Mr Hayden stated the building was being remodeled at that time and the mail box was temporarily removed from the building. Mr. Hayden claims the mail should be able to be delivered now. 

On May 29, 2019 BBB conducted a drive by of the 112 Erie St South location in Massillon. The building appeared vacant, had a "for rent" sign in the window with phone number 216-338-2068. Inside the building did appear to be under construction. There was also a sign saying "Free Roofs" with the phone number 216-224-1911 and another sign in the window laying on its side that said "Cleveland Insurance Consultants". 

A BBB representative called the number on the "for rent" sign claiming to be interested in renting the space. A female answered and said we'd have to call a different number 216-224-1911 and speak to Mike Hayden. We called 216-224-1911 and Mike Hayden answered. The BBB rep stated they were interested in renting the space. When our rep asked if there was any current business at the location, we were told "no, it is currently being remodeled." When asked who owns the building, Mr Hayden stated he did. We were given a quote to rent the space based on square footage. During the conversation, there we no indications that any business was using the space or any business was being conducted out of that address. It appears it is only being used as a mail drop at this time. 

On May 30 2019 and June 26, 2019, BBB sent email correspondence to Mr. Hayden requesting clarification of the operating status and affiliation between Storm Damage Consultants, Massillon Roofing, and Cleveland Insurance Consultants. Our correspondence requested the following information:

Is Massillon Roofing still in business? Ohio Secretary of State listing is still active but the website no longer works and Cleveland BBB report indicates you told them you were in the process of dissolving the partnership in August 2017.

Are you still the Co-Owner of Massillon Roofing? If not, can you provide substantiation to show you are no longer affiliated. 

Do you also go by the name Mike James? Mike James was listed as Co-Owner of Massillon Roofing and Cleveland Insurance Consultants report with Cleveland BBB also states Mike James/Mike Hayden as the owner.

Is Cleveland Insurance Consultants still in operation and are you the Owner? Ohio Secretary of State still shows as active and Facebook page is still up, although the website is now being used by Storm Damage Consultants.

Which business(es) are operating out of 112 Erie St. S., Massillon, OH 44646 location?

Is there any business actually being conducted out of the 112 Erie St. S., Massillon, OH 44646 location or is it just a mail drop? 

Mike Hayden has not responded to our request for this information. Based on information detailed above, BBB cannot state with confidence that we have a clear understanding of the business relationship between Mike Hayden and Storm Damage Consultants, Massillon Roofing and Cleveland Insurance Consultants.

BBB received returned mail on May 28, 2019 and June 4, 2019 by the post office as "undeliverable as addressed - unable to forward" We were able to reach Mr. Hayden via email and he explained the mailbox was temporarily off the building during building remodeling. The mailbox has been put back up and mail should be deliverable at this time.
