In March 2023, BBB contacted Kathy's Family regarding claims in its advertising.
Its advertising includes multiple health benefit claims for its products, including, but not limited to:
"Kathy's Healing lotion is amazing for..stops itchy skin, heals..anti-wrinkle, anti-aging, eczema, psoriasis, rosacea...sunburn, windburn, acne, athlete's foot, bedsores, birthmarks, stretch marks, burns, scars, chronic hives, heat rash, diaper rash, fever blisters, cold sores, chapped lips, feet jock itch, feminine itching, hemorrhoids, anal cleanse, poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac......pain relief associated with arthritis, muscle ache, joint ache, minor cuts razor burn, measles, photosensitivity, shingles, skin cancer, chicken pox, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome or Epidermolysis Bullosa."
100% Organic Foot Bath and 100% Organic Foot Scrub: "The dead sea salt -mineral salt blend aids circulation and has been known to relieve irritating skin conditions."
100% Organic Sea Salt Soak: "The essential oils work to release lactic acid build up caused by strenuous and/or 'normal' activity. The salts aid circulation and detoxify by stimulating the elimination of body toxins."
100% Organic Foot Powder: "The cool, talc-free herb and cornstarch blend absorbs moisture, soothes, refreshes and relieves itching and burning feet. Thyme and tea tree oil inhibit fungal infections and control bacterial growth."
According to the BBB Code of Advertising, claims relating to performance, energy savings, safety, efficacy or results for a product or service should be based on recent and competent testing or other objective data. The business did not respond to BBB's request that it provide recent testing that substantiates these claims.
Its advertising states that many of the product ingredients are "certified organic."

That is, the product should contain no, or negligible, foreign content. Made in USA claims must be substantiated. The business did not provide proof of this claim.
