Additional Information for Motorcars

The following describes a government action that has been resolved by either a settlement or a decision by a court or administrative agency. If the matter is being appealed, it will be noted below.

On 10/22/2019, Motorcars LLC et al received a final judgement in the case filed in the Summit County Common Pleas Court in Summit Ohio by the State of Ohio ex rel. Attorney General Dave Yost.  The court decided the business and owner, Nazmi S. Khaleq, had failed to file applications for certificates of title for sales of used motor vehicles within the allotted time periods, which violated the CSPA, R.C. 1345.01 et seq., and the Certificate of Motor Vehicle Title Act, R.C. 4505.01 et seq.   Mr. Khaleq also engaged in unfair and deceptive acts and practices (R.C. 1354.02(A)) by failing to post a bond after the Attorney General paid a retail purchaser of the dealer from the TDR Fund due to Khaeq's failure to deliver title to the purchaser. 

Mr. Khaleq was ordered to pay $5,069 to the Attorney General to reimburse the Title Defect Recision (TDR) Fund for expenditures made to resolve title defects caused by his motor vehicle violations.  He was also ordered to pay a civil penalty of $10,000.  Mr. Khaleq is prohibited from engaging in consumer transactions as a supplier in the State of Ohio until monies are paid.
