In November 2023, BBB Serving New Mexico and Southwest Colorado investigated RHN Heavy Equipment LLC business practices. This investigation was prompted by complaints, Scam Tracker reports and consumer inquiries.

Consumers have alleged the following through BBB Scam Tracker reports: 
- "Was looking for heavy equipment and initially contacted them through email. I have well over 50 emails from the company and somebody named Eric Olsen. We did get a phone call and asked some questions and everything seemed legit. Sent wire transfer to their bank account on 11/6/23 (my bank didn't initially want to do transfer but we thought it was due to us just having wired money when we purchased our house the week before) . Tractor was set for delivery on 11/20/23 but they sent an email about 4 hours before delivery was supposed to have been made saying that there was a trailer issue and they were rescheduling it until this week. Have sent multiple emails asking for a phone call with an update of what was going on with delivery. Today is the second delivery date still haven't heard from anybody, still waiting for an email update or a phone call. Their phone number rings for a bit but you get disconnected every time."
- "Used screenshots of equipment from other businesses"
- "Contacted RHN Heavy Equipment through the website after finding a 2018 John Deere tractor we were interested in purchasing. Bill of Sale completed and wire made. The tractor was scheduled to be shipped and was delayed again and again due to "mechanical" issues with the trailer. The tractor never showed up and the funds are gone and the account the money was transferred to has been closed. We have not been able to reach the Eric Olsen, who was the person who reached out to us. The phone numbers do not work but their website is still actively showing equipment for sale."
- "Looking online for a farm tractor. RHN Heavy Equipment came up and had a large selection at good prices. We contacted them via their website and made the purchase with the tractor to be delivered. We received an invoice with payment instructions via bank wire transfer with delivery date set. They kept moving the delivery date because of problems with delivery trailer. After 3 changes in delivery date I contacted the city and county authorities and found that the company did not exist at their address and was not registered with the county. All communications were via email and phone was never answered. All communications and website seemed very professional."

In November 2023, BBB checked the RHN Heavy Equipment LLC’s website to determine when it was created. The website was created on September 11, 2023.

BBB is unable to pursue complaints against RHN Heavy Equipment LLC because the business is unreachable. During the course of our investigation, BBB found this business is not located at the business’ reported postal address in Carlsbad, NM 88220. In November 2023, postal mail sent by BBB to the business was returned to BBB, marked by USPS as undeliverable as addressed. BBB is unable to verify the true location of this business. BBB additionally found that the email address and phone number on file for the business are no longer valid. 

BBB made inquiries to RHN Heavy Equipment LLC via email asking the following:
1. RHN Heavy Equipment LLC’s U.S. Department Of Transportation, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, USDOT Number. 
2. RHN Heavy Equipment LLC’s New Mexico Public Regulation Commission licensing information.
3. BBB was not able to verify RHN Heavy Equipment LLC operations as being located on Potash Mines Rd, Carlsbad, NM 88220 and asked for supporting documentation of their address.
3. Any additional operations addresses, mailing addresses, warehouse addresses and phone numbers.
4. Copies of RHN Heavy Equipment LLC’s documentation and disclosures provided to consumers such as contracts, warranties, and invoices.

To date, BBB has not received a response from RHN Heavy Equipment LLC.

Based on the information detailed above, BBB cannot state with confidence that we have a clear understanding of the business.

Filing a dispute is time sensitive and should not be delayed. However, not all payment providers allow disputes. Consumers may want to check with their payment provider prior to purchase to find out what payment protection options are available.

You may also want to file a complaint with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Federal Trade Commission and/or the Federal Bureau of Investigation Internet Crime Complaint Center.
