Pattern of Complaints
In April 2019, BBB contacted Ma’ati Spa concerning a pattern of complaints involving customers who purchased Groupon offers for massages and were unable to schedule appointments without monthly delays, unless the customers paid an additional fee. The Groupon add makes no reference to additional fees to get priority appointments more than months out.
Additionally, there was a pattern of not responding to complaints. When contacted, the business had 2 unanswered complaints in their file.
On April 4, 2019, the business responded answering the pattern of complaints. The business advised Groupon would not let then add anymore information to the Groupon add concerning the scheduling and additional fees for priority booking. Per the business, any customer that books directly with the company gets priority booking.
Per Groupon there are no restriction to a business’ ad on their platform and the business should adhere to the information contained in the “Fine Print” of the Groupon ad.
On April 9, 2019 a subsequent request was made to the business to update their information with Groupon or provide information from Groupon stating they could not modify the Groupon ad. To date we have not received a response, nor has there been an update to the Groupon ad “Fine Print” for the business.BBB Business Profiles may not be reproduced for sales or promotional purposes.
