          The following describes a pending government action that has been formally brought by a government agency but has not yet been resolved. We are providing a summary of the government’s allegations, which have not yet been proven.

           On September 29, 2022, the Federal Trade Commission and a bipartisan coalition of 10 state attorneys general have filed a complaint in US District Court for the Middle District of North Carolina. Charges filed allege Syngenta Crop Protection LLC is in violation of federal law prohibiting it from paying distributors to block competitors from selling their cheaper generic products to farmers by running so-called “loyalty programs” in which distributors only get paid if they limit business with competing manufacturers.
