          BBB has received a number of calls and Scam Tracker reports about solicitations from a "Gradient Outreach Program" or "Gradient Gives Back Foundation." Consumers describe being contacted by a "friend" (likely a catfish / imposter), telling them they've already received money from this grant program, and they should take advantage of it as well. Consumers are then instructed they need to send money (via gift cards, online payment platforms) to claim their "grant." (e.g., $300 to claim a $10,000 grant) BBB notes that there *is* a legitimate charity called the "Gradient Gives Back Foundation" in Minnesota, but these communications appear to be an imposter scam, using the foundation's name to trick consumers into wiring money to claim non-existent grants. (The website for the 'real' Gradient Gives Back Foundation includes a warning of its own, stating "Applications are only accepted through our website and we do not contact individuals through any private messaging services.") If you are contacted by someone about grant money from a "Gradient Outreach Program," BBB strongly urges you not to send money.
