Alert
Based on a report we've received, Better Business Bureau believes this is a fraudulent online entity. The consumer who brought Sam Yorkies to our attention stated they sent money to purchase a pet via wire transfer - a hallmark of fraudulent online pet schemes. However, Sam Yorkies failed to ship the pet as promised and requested more fees for the pet to be delivered. From previous experience with these types of fraudulent entities, BBB also believes Sam Yorkies has no local presence in Minnesota.
The consumer who reported this entity
to BBB supplied their web address as http://samyorkies.us/. However,
that website appears to be inactive.
BBB offers the following tips to avoid online pet selling scams:
*
Watch out for requests to wire money. This is usually a sign you're
dealing with a scammer. Never wire money to someone you haven't met in
person.
*Beware of online or classified ads with multiple misspellings and/or
grammatical errors. Many pet scams originate overseas, so scammers
usually don't have a good grasp of the English language.
* Don't be
fooled by a well-designed website. Scammers can easily steal images and
details from postings off the websites of legitimate breeders. Always
research companies at BBB.org.
*Be leery of classified
ads that promise cheap or free pets for adoption. These offers sound
good, until the scammers tell you your pet is at the airport but you'll
have to pay unexpected fees to move forward with the adoption process.
The fees continue to mount and people eventually realize these offers
were not legitimate.
* Watch out for situations where you're asked to
wire funds to unknown third-parties for shipping or transportation.
These are often other fraudulent entities working in tandem with the
supposed pet seller.

On April 17, 2017, BBB received a report of another fraudulent online pet seller claiming this same physical address - Mini T-Cup Yorkie. As in the case involving Sam Yorkies, the consumer who made the report was asked to wire funds to claim their pups. After wiring half the funds ($600), as agreed upon, the hopeful buyer was told they would have to wire more than $1,000 per puppy, supposedly for insurance. The buyer became suspicious at that point and reported their experience to BBB.
