Alert
According to information provided by consumers, 'African American Grants' (AAG) is an organization claiming to help African-American business owners find grant money. A "contract" sent to one consumer indicates the organization being in Minneapolis. Consumers describe paying AAG thousands of dollars for guidance on securing grants, only to have AAG provide no service, and ultimately cut off communication. BBB notes that there is no organization by this name registered with the MN Secretary of State's office, and a phone number listed on the site (800-580-2971) rings fast busy. While there is a website (www.africanamericangrants.org) that appears informational and has been registered since 2009, BBB notes that a newer site (www.africanamericangrant.org, with no 's') associated with the -2971 number was just created on 10/26/22. If you are currently in communication with "AAG" and being asked to pay money for consulting services, BBB strongly urges caution. If you have additional information to share about AAG, please submit a report at bbb.org/scamtracker.
