On January 5, 2024, the business entered into a Consent Order with the Minnesota Department of Labor and Industry (DLI). The Consent Order settles allegations that the business violated Minn. Stat. 326B.082, subd. 11 (b)(2)(8)(9); 326B.33, subd. 12: 326B.36; 326B.84 91)(2) (2022) and Minn. Rule 2891.0040, subp. 1A(2021). Under terms of the Order, the business agreed to withdraw their application for a building contractors license; they may re-apply with a fully completed and accurate application packet. The business also agreed to ensure all staff who perform electrical work for the business hold either a master, journeyworker or are a registered unlicensed electrician and all compensation is reported on appropriate IRS forms; and to ensure that the registered unlicensed electricians are properly supervised; all required electric permits are filed before beginning work and maintain records in compliance with Minn. Stat. 326B.33, subd 12. The business also agreed to only perform work in the name they are licensed in and notify DLI within 30 days of any changes to the business address, phone number and/or email addresses. The business will pay $7,000.00 of a $15,000.00 penalty with the balance stayed on the condition that they fully comply with the terms of the Order and have no future violations of any laws, rules or orders under DLI authority.
