Better Business Bureau is attempting to learn more about this entity. Their website lists no physical address. By researching their website registration, we discovered an address listing for a P.O. Box in Dayton, Minnesota. Prior to that, BBB tried contacting Reclaim (www.ReclaimLostProperty.com) through the customer service email address provided on their website. As of yet, we've received no response to that inquiry.
In a response to a recent customer complaint filed through BBB, the company stated the following: "In the FAQ
section [on their website], the search process is mentioned as passive (I.E. Google AdWords
campaign) and the customer is told that using our website is merely a
supplement to them working directly with the airline/airport.
"Each page of the website mentions that
“RLP is an independent company not affiliated with any airport, airline,
or any other government entity.” The Terms mention that there is no guarantee of finding lost property, and that we do not provide refunds."
BBB has also received a report about Reclaim through BBB Scam Tracker. The report was filed by someone alleging they are aware of people who have paid the $29.99 fee to access Reclaim's item recovery process and did not receive the service promised. The individual that filed the report urged people who have lost items at an airport to access lost and found recovery policies at the website of the airport where their item (or items) were left. BBB will update this report as more information becomes available.
