Alert
In February 2020, BBB began receiving complaints for Retro Spectrum Consignment. This investigation was prompted by the nature of consumer complaints, which indicated consumers are contacted via social media with an offer to purchase a collectible shoe. Further investigation found that consumers had also been told they had won collectible shoes in a raffle. Consumers are told they will need to transfer money via Zelle, or other non-traceable transfer, to pay for shipping. One consumer told BBB that there was "no product and no response" after several attempts to confirm tracking.
BBB has confirmed with the current occupant that the address where Retro Spectrum Consignment claims to be located has been occupied by a legitimate retail business since 2012.
Consumers with outstanding concerns are still encouraged to file a complaint for BBB records and may also wish to contact the FBI Internet Crime Complaint Center (IC3).
BBB urges caution when choosing whether to do business with a company whose physical location is unknown.
