In February 2023, BBB investigated Capital Cosmos for its business practices. This investigation was prompted by consumer inquiry. One consumer told BBB, "Company is spamming email daily with bogus offers of pre-approved loans. I have contacted Sean Wright, origin of email multiple times requesting the emails stop. They continue daily."
BBB attempted to reach the company by mail, telephone, and email to request the company clarify the nature of its business. The business has failed to respond to BBB requests.
BBB called the phone number on the website. After an automated message: "Hello thank you for calling Capital Cosmos. We will connect you with Sean Wright.", BBB staff spoke with a representative who identified himself as Sean Wright. The call promptly disconnected when the representative learned that BBB was calling. Subsequent calls were immediately disconnected after the automated message.
The address on the company's website is a virtual office space. Mail to 3200 Greenfield Rd. Suite 300 Dearborn, MI 48120 was returned by the US Postal Service, marked "Attempted - Not Known". BBB identified two email addresses on the website. Both were invalid, resulting in failed delivery notifications from two email applications.
According to information in BBB files, Capital Cosmos is not a registered business name in the State of Michigan. According to WhoIs, a database of internet domain registrations, the website was created on August 5, 2022, and the registrant's information was not disclosed. BBB noted the website's terms and conditions claim "Last Revised: January 19, 2019", a date before the website was created. The company's email marketing contained hyperlinks to "Apply Here" and "Unsubscribe" web pages that were classified as malicious by an internet security application.
BBB does not know where the business is physically located, and all forms of contact have been exhausted. Based on the information detailed above, BBB cannot confirm the legitimacy of Capital Cosmos. BBB urges caution when choosing whether to do business with a company whose physical location is unknown.
