BBB received a scam report about this business alleging that the business charged advanced fees for a puppy advertised online that once paid for was never delivered. Payment was sent through a nonrefundable payment method. Soon after, the business referred the consumer to "United Ship Cargo, https://unitedshipcargo.com" for pet transportation services, provided a tracking number, and requested additional money for a thermal electronic crate.

On 10/22/2019 BBB initiated an investigation on this business to research the allegations further.

BBB determined that the address the business claims to operate from is INVALID.

BBB confirmed that the business is not registered as a business entity with the State of Maryland Department of Assessment and Taxation.

BBB reviewed the business' website and determined that the testimonials are also displayed on https://downtownbreeder.company.com/ a website advertising kittens for sale.

Based on these concerns, BBB is unable to verify the legitimacy of this business.

BBB will continue to monitor the nature of reports submitted about this business and will update the report with developments as they surface.

On 06/30/2016, BBB of Greater Maryland initiated an investigation on the business after receiving a complaint alleging that an advanced payment was required via Money Gram / Western Unions, for pets advertised online, that were never delivered.

Consumers also reported that after they paid for the pets up-front, they were contacted by an affiliated pet transporting business representative who required that the consumer to pay additional fees for pet insurance, a new pet carrier, etc.

BBB determined the address the business claims to operate from, 5429 York rd Baltimore, MD 21212, does not exist, and the airlines, the pet transportation business claims to work with, do not require pet insurance.

Further research revealed that the photos of available puppies, advertised as a few weeks old, date as far back as 02/2011, and that the same puppies are listed as "sold" on a legitimate puppy breeder website. BBB also determined that the customer reviews were also borrowed from a legitimate puppy breeder website.

Over the course of 2016, BBB of MD received an influx of complaints detailing similar experiences with other businesses. Further review of these business websites, contracts, credentials, and advertising revealed that the businesses and websites are operated by the same individuals.

Consumers were provided inauthentic certificates/documents, tracking information, and flight reservation information to add validity to the scheme, but after initial payment was obtained, the businesses either ceased contact, or requested more money.

BBB of MD considers this an ongoing investigation and will report new developments as they surface.
