The BBB is posting the following information to advise the public of a scam that is misusing the KFC brand name to swindle job seekers. The "job" is purported to involve wrapping the applicant's car in a vinyl shrink wrap form of advertising. The applicant is sent a check for deposit in his/her account which includes "salary" (about $400) and a much larger payment (about $2600) which the applicant is directed to withdraw and wire to the company that will install the advertising wrap on his/her car. The BBB advises the public that any offer which requires the transfer of funds via wire or cash value debit card to unknown persons should be avoided. If you are unsure as to the validity of any such offer please contact your local BBB before transferring funds. Once the money has been transferred it cannot be recovered!!
