In June 2021, Better Business Bureau questioned JB's Smartphone Repair's website, www.celldrjb.com, which stated, “Every iPhone screen replacement comes with a Lifetime Warranty and a FREE $30 Tempered Glass Screen Protector Pre-Installed.”
Regarding free claims, please note BBB Code of Advertising standards: “The word ‘free’ may be used in advertising whenever the advertiser is offering an unconditional gift. If receipt of the ‘free’ merchandise or service is conditional on a purchase: the advertiser must disclose this condition clearly and conspicuously together with the ‘free’ offer (not by placing an asterisk or symbol next to ‘free’ and referring to condition(s) in a footnote); the normal price of the merchandise or service to be purchased must not have been increased nor its quantity or quality reduced; and the ‘free’ offer must be temporary; otherwise, it would become a continuous combination offer, no part of which is free.”
In addition, the BBB’s Code of Advertising standards state, “When using the term ‘warranty’ or ‘guarantee’ in product advertising, the advertiser must clearly and conspicuously include a statement that the complete details of the warranty can be seen prior to sale at the advertiser’s location, viewed on the advertiser’s website or, in the case of mail or telephone order sales, made available free on written request.” In addition, “When advertising ‘lifetime’ warranties or guarantees or similar representations, the advertisement must clearly and conspicuously disclose its intended meaning of the term ‘lifetime’.”
BBB requested the business substantiate, modify, or discontinue the claims made on its website. The company did not respond to BBB’s request.

The Limited Lifetime Warranty is only valid if the repaired device remains in the same condition it was at the end of the repair. The device must remain free from water damage, frame damage, major cosmetic damage, another person or service opening the phone, or damage to the components replaced during this repair. Screen replacement warranties only cover manufacturer defects.
The warranty does not cover user inflicted damage such as a cracked screen or screen protector, malfunction due to abnormal pressure on the screen, or malfunction due to water damage. The device's serial number must match the serial number in our records. If the security sticker placed on the inside of the device is tampered with, damaged, or missing, the warranty will be voided. JB's Smartphone Repair has the right to refuse service or warranty work to anyone at our own discretion.
