Customer Complaint
On December 5, 2018, the BBB opened an investigation into this company and its affiliates. The investigation was initiated after the BBB received multiple complaints and scam tracker entries about potentially fraudulent online retailers using the Shopify platform. The BBB investigated the company’s location, advertising, and online presence and interviewed individuals associated with the addresses purportedly used by the companies. In the course of its investigation, the BBB became aware of deceptive advertising practices employed by this company, including the erroneous display of “Going Out of Business” sales. In addition, the BBB learned that this company and its affiliates failed to deliver merchandise purchased from its website. Consumers who did receive merchandise received products crafted of poor quality material that did not match the size or color described on the company’s website. The BBB was able to link this fraudulent online retailer to a ring of 35 other online shops, operating out the Champaign-Urbana or Bolingbrook-Naperville area. The BBB urges consumers to exercise caution when shopping online.
