Angel Wings Network, Inc. provides support from early cancer diagnosis to recovery and remission. Having someone to talk to can make a world of difference when battling cancer. Angel Wings Network's volunteers have personal knowledge and understanding of what you are going through. Angel Wings Network offers the following services and support:Wheels to Recovery: Patient transports are offered to Angel Wings Network patients for a safe and reliable way to get to chemotherapy, radiation or medical appointments in Idaho and Oregon. Their friendly and reliable volunteer drivers are trained and certified to provide dependable transport.Prayer Blankets: They offer comfort to patients/clients and family members. Assembled by volunteers, each blanket is blessed with a prayer for healing and recovery, placed in a gift bag with other goodies, and delivered by a volunteer to a patient/client.Lending Library: Angel Wings Network's office holds a lending library full of books, brochures and other resource material for our cancer patients to borrow.Gas and Meal Gift Cards: Angel Wings Network helps defray the expenses of traveling to cancer treatments and appointments, by providing gas cards and meal gift cards to local area restaurants.Cleaning for a Cause: Angel Wings Network will pay for the first 4 hours of cleaning to help maintain a clean living environment and provide relief to patients.Comfort Bags: Angel Wings Network fills custom bags for patients in need with comfort and care items which are delivered to every new patient. Notebooks, journals, pens, hand sanitizer, wipes, kleenex, snacks, candy, puzzle books, face masks, and more!Prosthetic and Wig Services: Angel Wings Network has vast resources for prosthetics, bras, compression garments, wigs, scarves, caps and hats. Patients are welcome to look through what we have and use items free of charge. Each item is clean and ready to be used.Weekly Outreach at Cancer Infusion Centers: Each week at least one volunteer performs outreach at the local infusion centers, providing comfort and support. Volunteers talk to new patients and offer services to those who wish to sign up. They also offer hand massages as a way to ease stress and bring relaxation, hard candy to help with dry mouth and nausea, comfort items, and emotional support.Prepared Meals/Food Boxes: Angel Wings Network offers prepared meals from the local Weiser Senior/Community Center to cancer patients. Meals can be picked up by a volunteer and delivered, if needed. They also offer food boxes and a food pantry for those in need. Meal trains can also be arranged for those who could use some extra help during treatment.Salon Services: Several local beauty shops offer free services to cancer patients, including wig styling. Reach out to the Angel Wings Network office to make salon arrangements.Emotional Support & Guidance: Sometimes simply having someone to talk to about your cancer diagnosis and the struggles you face can be a way to relieve some stress, though not everyone has someone to talk to. Volunteers who have all experienced cancer in one form or another are available to support you emotionally through this fight.
