On February 6, 2020, Better Business
Bureau received a complaint regarding McMaster Excavation. The consumer alleged
they hired Justin McMaster to build a barn; once they paid him $25,000, Justin
McMaster poured concrete that did not settle properly, he returned to the
property and removed all of the concrete, however since that day the consumer
has not seen or heard from Justin McMaster or any representative from McMaster
Excavation.
The consumer further alleged they are
now receiving lien notices for their property as the building supplies were not
paid for with the money that was forwarded to Justin McMaster.
On February 07, 2020, and February
19, 2020, letters were forwarded to Justin McMaster from BBB requesting
responses to the consumer allegations; as of February 27, 2020, Justin McMaster
has not responded to BBB.
Better Business Bureau always
recommends consumers ask for a lien release when hiring a contractor and
providing money up front.
