According to BBB records, the address listed for Almeda University, 10400 Overland Rd., # 224, Boise, ID is a private mail box company. Almeda University has informed our office that this address in Idaho is a "centralized mail facility" and not part of any Almeda University campus. Mail sent to the Idaho address is forwarded to Almeda agents in various locations. Almeda University states they do not publish the physical location of any of its offices. As an on-line Virtual Private Network (VPN) they have no facilities to accommodate students or visitors. Almeda University states they are accredited by the Association for On-line Academic Excellence, also known as AOAEX. This association advertises that they are a non-governmental private accreditation association. Almeda University informed the BBB that their standards are reviewed each year by AOAEX for an annual fee of $750.00. Almeda University is not accredited by the U.S Department of Education, Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. According to information on Almeda University's application, they are unable to participate in the federal student aid program or GI Bill. Additionally, Almeda University degrees are not legal for academic or business uses in the following States: Oregon, New Jersey, North Dakota, Washington and Idaho. Residents of these States should consider the Almeda degree as a novelty item only.
