Pattern of Complaints
According to information in BBB files, Mold Case Consulting has a pattern of complaints alleging Contract, Service, and Refund Issues.
Specifically, consumers state they were led to believe they were dealing with a law firm that would represent them in court for mold lawsuits. Their website makes them appear to be a law firm. Other consumers state they pay large fees for services that assist in legal issues with mold and do not get the services they believe they are told they would. Consumers request a call, but Mold Case Consulting does not respond promptly to calls or emails.
On September 26, 2024, BBB sent correspondence to Mold Case Consulting to request their voluntary cooperation in eliminating the pattern of complaint.
On October 18, 2024, Mold Case Consulting responded with the following response:
In 2024, Mold Case Consulting provided guidance to thousands of individuals with mold-related issues. We take the 12 complaints brought to our attention this year by the BBB very seriously. Our team would like to take this opportunity to address some of the concerns. We are committed to transparency and open communication as we work to resolve any issues.
Are we a law firm?
Since the company’s inception, we have consistently communicated through our website and contracts that we are not a law firm. Mold Case Consulting has expanded service descriptions to illustrate our role in the mold litigation process.
What services do we offer?
Mold Case Consulting, previously known as "Mold Law Group," was established to cater to the increasing number of individuals seeking to build legal cases against parties responsible for mold exposure in their homes or workplaces, essentially providing expert consultation services to support potential lawsuits for mold-related health issues. Our goal is to preserve evidence, save clients time, lower the cost of litigation, and improve the chances of a fair case outcome.
In personal injury cases, attorneys often work on a contingency basis, meaning they only get paid if they win. However, many attorneys are hesitant to take on mold cases this way due to challenges such as insufficient early evidence and the financial risk of covering expert costs.
We support individuals attempting to build legal cases related to mold exposure by equipping them with essential testing, helping gather and document evidence, identifying potentially liable parties, and connecting them with qualified legal representation. Our consumer-centric approach is driven by a mission to empower clients throughout the process of constructing a mold exposure case, ensuring they understand the necessary testing and documentation involved.
The BBB has identified a few individuals who may have misunderstood our services. While we have consistently outlined Mold Case Consulting's services on our website and in client contracts, we have implemented new policies to enhance clarity and provide even more detail about our role in mold litigation support.
How do our client communication policies work?
It is our policy to respond to clients within 24-48 hours. However, we have implemented additional steps to further improve client communications:
• We have increased staff over the past month to better facilitate calls and emails.
• We have improved our processes for inbound calls and emails.
• We set new response time goals for our consultants to speak with clients.
Why did we rebrand?
Before the recent BBB concerns arose, Mold Law Group was actively undergoing a major rebranding initiative. The rebrand is part of our commitment to expand and clarify our services. We are focused on improving our existing platform as we roll out new litigation services. On August 30, 2024, Mold Law Group implemented its original plan to change its name to Mold Case Consulting.
