Important information
- Additional Info:The following comments provide general information for consumers, and do not necessarily reflect the practices or record of any particular company.
Research the makes and models of new cars before buying. Look through consumer research publications and auto magazines to compare specifications. Shop the market and test drive cars to determine what fits your style and physical size. Question people you know who have recently purchased a new car to determine what their experience has been with the car itself and the servicing dealer.
Ask the dealer to provide written price quotes with and without the optional equipment that you want. Don't stop shopping until you receive written confirmation from the dealer that the contract is approved and thoroughly review any contract before you sign.
Before you take possession of the car make sure to inspect it thoroughly. Use your order form to ensure that the vehicle is the make and model you ordered with the contracted options. Look at the body for any damage and ask for a short test drive to ensure that the vehicle performs to your satisfaction.
