The Federal Trade Commission's (FTC's) Cooling-Off Rule applies to sales at the buyer's home. Cancellation must be done by mail, making sure the envelope is post-marked before midnight of the third business day after the contract date. If you sign a financing agreement it will have a separate three day cancellation period. Therefore, if you cancel the financing, but not the purchase of the system, you still may be obligated to purchase the system.
